My husband and I went to Andalous with some friends for the first time and were really impressed. It was the first time we were trying Moroccan food and I must say that it was simply fantastic. Cant wait to go back. The variety in dishes for both veg and non veg makes it a restaurant worth visiting every time.

My daughter and I cannot visit Chicago without a visit to Andalous. We started maybe two to three years ago, when she was 14 or 15 and try to hit it once or twice a year. Now, when we plan our trips, she talks about "the Moroccan place" for weeks in advance as a "must". Great food, great people, and great fun. Never had anything but a wonderful experience. Would highly recommend to anyone.

When I went to Andalous with my family, we tried many dishes. For starter, we had a soup called Harira. It was delicious. The vegetables in it were perfect.I would recommend this soup for everyone who likes a lighter soup. For the main course, we all ordered different dishes. I had Marrakech Tagine. The sauce that the lamb was cooked in was awesome and the homemade fries were the best fries I had ever tasted. It was so good that I almost finish that big plate all by myself! My sister ordered the Famous Couscus and I could not stop asking for more of her dish. We also ordered a combination grill platter. This was none like the others. All the pieces of meat and sausages were delicous. I of course ate a lot from that plate. We also had the Sahara Tagine. The beef was very good but I liked my lamb more. With our dinner, we had Moroccan hot tea by the pot. I loved the tea! It was sweet and had a nice mint flavor. For dessert, we ordered the Moroccan Pastry Trio. We got to taste a little of everything. They were all very good! We also really enjoyed talking to the owner. He was very kind and hospitable! By the end of the meal, we became good friends! If you were ever in Chicago, you have to go to Andalous. You will love everything you eat there!

I have eaten here in excess of a dozen times and have never been disappointed. The food is excellent. I had a lamb shank last night with raisins, honey, nuts, etc. Quantites are generous to a fault. Brought two of my friends with me that had never been there before. They both plan on returning. One had the whitefish, one of my favorites, and the other had the chicken breast with artichoke hearts. I have never quite understood the negative comments. Have always been treated well and loved the food. The "Andalous deal" appetizer is a great starter that is easily shared by 2 or 3 people.

I went with friends to Anadalous and had a great experience. We took the owner's recommendations- including dishes we would not have picked for ourselves. We were not disappointed. It was all looked great and tasted even better. We'll be going back.

I once visited the old location a block away and loved it. I went in afternoon as class with my friend and was greated by a small boy with a menu for us. We were then greeted by the wondeful owner. A very welcoming place as is the culture (something I appreciate of my own and am happy to see it practiced as it should be). The food is excellent with exquiste mint tea and desserts. A wonderful experience everytime I go, a willful love from all staff. Un diez al dueno del restaurante!

Excellent food and value. The Tribune review is outdated because the outdoor seating is very nice. Outdoor patio has great atmosphere. Will definitly go back.

I am always hesitant to revisit restaurants in Chicago with the plethora of choices here in the city. I find myself returning to Andalous frequently bringing visitors and locals alike. Service is great, and you are bound to see the owner any time you come in. I have never been disappointed with any meal I have orderded. Start with the Andalous deal it is a great appetizer and take your pick everything is good. As a BYOB restaurant as well, dinner is a bargain.

This was one of the most pleasant dining experiences I have had in Chicago. The service was amazing, the most friendly, attentive staff ever! The food was great and very authentic.I recommend sitting on the patio for a true Morrocan feel.

I have had incredible dinners at Andalous twice, and when I found out I would be having stomach surgery, my surgeon said I would have to be on a liquid diet for a long time. Even then, it may happen that I cannot tolerate many foods. As I have approached my surgery date, I know the only thing I want more than anything to be my "last supper" is the Chicken Pastilla and the awesome olive appetizer served up by Hadj. So there you have it.......I chose Andalous above all else, even if I do have to drive 2.5 hrs, and brave the Chicago traffic. See you tomorrow!!

I love Andalous. I go all the time. The food is delicious, the service is always very friendly and the prices are so reasonable - especially considering all the work that goes into the dishes. I recommend Andalous to anyone looking for an excellent meal with all the genuine warmth and hospitality that one only finds in Morocco.

I had a fabulous meal at Andalous. The food and the service could not have been better ... and on top of all that, the prices are quite reasonable. This is best "find" of my trip to Chicago.

I was there yesterday for dinner with my date as a first times eating at Moroccan restaurant and not having any knowledge about what kind of food, the server was able to explain every thing in the menu. And also recommended, the special which was the sweet couscous. The food was great and the services were unbelievable, I recommend any one who never experienced dinning in Moroccan restaurant to try Andalous restaurant.

Went here last Saturday with a large party. The seating was excellent and the food was even better! The service was a bit slow but that was because the waitress was covering the entire small restaurant by herself! It was only $16 per person, which included our dinners and some appetizers and the tip and tax! Is a BYOB place with no corkage fee...a rare find in Chicago. Definitely a place to return to and try if you haven't already! : )

Every time I go the cous-cous seems to taste better and better. My family lived in Casablanca, Morocco and let me tell you that I know how Moroccan food and especially cous-cous should taste. This one is excellent!!!

Wow! If you've ever wondered what Moroccan food is all about, you want to visit Andalous. Situated on one of the most competitive restaurant streets in Chicago, between acclaimed Mia Francesca and Buddy's cafe, Andalous serves up slow cooked tangines mixed not only with spices, veggies and even fruits, but all the love in the world. Diners love the pastilla, a pancake filled with chicken among other ingredients and dusted with cinnamon. Lamb falls off the bone in a number of exotic tangines. Andalous dishes combine sweet, spicy and very very hot for a unique variety of entrees. The price is unbelievably reasonable. Desserts are subtle, but still interesting, like small sesame cakes filled with a couscous type substance and rolled in honey. Have dessert with very sweet mint tea poured into a small cup the size of a shot glass from an endless pot. Andalous is the kind of restaurant people will always find a reason to return to!

This place is great. I recommend the Chicken Kabob. The place is a bit constrained when it comes to space, but the food definitely makes up for it.

Andalous is such an enjoyable experience. I called last minute for a reservation for 12 and they happily accommodated us. The food was great - and BYOB is always a plus! Thanks Andolous!!
Rachel Hass (Chicago , IL)
My wife an I enjoyed everything from start to finish. Beware that the atmosphere is very laid back, but the food more than makes up for it.
Joseph Pekarek (Chicago , IL)
This place is AWESOME. Who can beat a friendly owner, amazing food, a cozy atmosphere and no corkage fee? As I got sauced on cheap wine, I ate the most amazing chicken pastry goodness wrapped in cinnamon in sugar -- the Pastilla. Just order it... you will NOT be disappointed. GO HADJ!

Having spent time in Morocco, I find the food authentic and delicious. Service is good as well. A quaint place to visit for a quiet, reasonably priced meal.

Fantastic place!! Having spent three years in Morocco, this was the most authentic place imaginable. The owner eveb spent time talking to us about the place. Felt very welcome there. Wonderful outdoor seating. Even better, spent a whopping $28 for 2 of us! I highly reccommend it to everyone. Can't go wrong here.
